
Dubai traffic to ease: RTA completes 3.1 km bridge network, easing traffic to Port Rashid and Jumeirah

The Highway and Transportation Authority (RTA) has completed the Sheikh Rashid Road project and the Street Intersection Development Mine with the inauguration of the fifth and last bridge, marking the conclusion of all the phases of the development project of the Shindagha corridor in Bur Dubai.
The project included the construction of five bridges with a total length or 3.1 km and a combined traffic capacity of approximately 19,400 vehicles per hour.
The works extended along Sheikh Rashid Road since its intersection with Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street to its intersection with the Street mine, 4.8 km voltage.

“The corridor serves Deira and Bur Dubai, as well as several important development projects, including the Dubai, Dubai Waterfront, Dubai Maritime City and Port Rashid Islands. The scope of the project included the improvement of intersections at the surface level along Jumeirah Street, the Mina Street and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah Street.
Two pedestrian bridges were also built, one in Sheikh Rashid Road and another in Al Mina Street, to improve the mobility and safety of pedestrians.
This end, the RTA has ensured an uninterrupted traffic flow from the bridge to Garhoud to Port Rashid through the Infinity bridge, and onard the Waterfront market, and vice versa.
The project also facilitates the soft traffic movement from the street to the mine to Sheikh Rashid Road, and from the street to the mine to Al Wasl Road near the buildings of the Hudaiba awards, while allowing traffic that flows to Jumiaman.
