Walk of Cairo Secures Full Certification

Today, Bonyan for Development and Trade got the final go-ahead for its big project, the Walk of Cairo. This means the mixed-use development is officially certified and ready to go, which should give investors, stores, and the community a lot more confidence.

Bonyan’s Walk of Cairo (WOC), managed by Compass Capital, began in early 2019. The goal is to recreate the vibe of a classic shopping street outside. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) designed WOC, located in Sheikh Zayed City, Western Cairo. It’s a large area, covering 116,000 sqm with 900 meters of storefronts.WOC blends entertainment and practicality, featuring over 100 stores from local and international brands. It includes family-friendly spots, wellness centers, cafes, the Museum of Illusion, gyms, clinics, and a business zone. Walk of Cairo isn’t just a fluke; it’s central to how Bonyan is growing.

Since 2018, Bonyan has gone from managing just one property to 10 commercial properties around Cairo. This includes a great office building they recently bought in New Cairo’s Park Street Edition. Earlier in 2024, Bonyan bought another office property near the American University in Cairo, solidifying their position in both East and West Cairo.

Bonyan’s financial situation has improved a lot. Their real estate assets now add up to EGP 14 billion, bringing in solid rental income and showing strong expansion. Now that certification is done, Bonyan can move faster on leasing, look into better financing, and get the remaining project phases up and running.

People are really waiting to see if the company goes public and if that will bring more investment to Egypt’s property market.Bonyan’s Walk of Cairo getting certified isn’t just about having the right documents. It means a fresh start for lifestyle property in Egypt. With smart planning, good management, and great design, WOC shows that Cairo can build top-notch places that make city living better. For Bonyan, this is about more than business; it’s about what they’ll leave behind.
