Power Outages in Spain and Portugal: Photos

Dozens of millions of people in the Iberian Peninsula had the day the power cuts lasted hours.

Throughout Spain and Portugal, the hospitals ran with generators, the trains stopped and the supermarkets were closed. For Monday night, some energy was restored in parts of Spain and areas in Portugal, but many residents still expected their lights to return. The authorities ran to find and repair the problem, while there was still daylight.
