U.K. Counterterrorism Police Investigate After Crossbow Attack Injures 2 Women

The contracterrorism police in Great Britain is investigating an attack on Saturday that “seriously injured” two women in the city of Leeds in the north of English. Police said they had recovered a crossbow and a firearm.

The police arrested a 38 -year -old man, who was hospital tasks with what they called a “self -inflicted injury.”

They said they were not looking for anyone else in relation to the attack, which happened on Saturday afternoon, and that the reason for violence remained under investigation.

“Clearly, this has a shocking incident,” said Carl Galvin, a West Yorkshire police officer, the force that directed the initial police operation. He thanked civilians and emergency responders for helping victims.

“We would strongly be that people do not speculate online or share information or footage that may affect active research,” he added.

The incident occurs in the midst of debates about violence and terrorism in Great Britain, which is still considering the murder of three girls last July in Southport, in the northwest of England. The knife attack last year triggered disturbances, which became inflamed by misinformation and extreme right agitators.

The crime with a knife is more common than the attacks of the crossbow in Great Britain, but the use of the weapon is not exempt from precedents in the country. Last July, a man with a crossbow killed three women in London, his former partner, who had recently ended his relationship, as well as his sister and mother.

In London, last year, a separate crossbow attack was reported, which the police resulted in injuries that are not from life, in March last year.
