The FIA ​​Sport Motor Women’s Commission supports the next generation of female karting talents

The Fédération Internationale de l’Aphtmobile (FIA), the Global Government Body for Motor Sports and Federation for Mobility Organizations worldwide, has announced today that the Women’s Commission in the FIA ​​Motorsport will support two young academy pilots in the FIA ​​of this season.

Emma-Rose Dowling will compete in the OK-Junior category (12-14 years-years), while Eva Dorrestijn will compete in the new older age group (14-16 years). The higher age group has recently established this year, and the WIM Commission has expanded its support for this group to further encourage young drivers on their trip to professional competence.

The competition is a great opportunity for any candidate for race pilot, with former competitors, including the stars of F1 Charles Leclerc, George Russell and Esteban Ocon.

Dowling and Dorrestijn will have access to the tutoring and support of the members of the WIM Commission, as well as the opportunity for their results to be shared with an established global commission.

Originally from South Africa, Emma-Rose Dowling is currently leader of the Championship for the Junior Max Rotax series championship in SA, and a competitor in the Champions of the Future series (Category OK-N). She previously competed in Mini Max (Rotax Series) and Mini Rok (skirt series), where she obtained 15 podiums and 8 victories. Emma-Rose has been an integral member of the Toyota Gazoo Junior Academy since 2022, and in July 2024, it was the only South African who was nominated to attend the process of selection of Talents Young Talents by Iron Ladies.

Meanwhile, Eva Dorrestijn is a 15 -year -old Dutch driver. In 2024, he held the eighth place in the Iame Beneux series, and was named Iame Beneux Best Lady. In 2023, he was a finalist of Fia Girls on Track Rising Stars, the FIA ​​female talent development program that promoted Maya Weug, Aurelia Nobels, Alba Hurup Larsen and Doriane Pin, among others, to professional careers.

The Trophous season of the Karting Academy of the FIA ​​Karting will begin with senior races at the International Do Algarve, Portimao, Portimao, in May, followed by Junior races in Valencia later that month.
