Dubai’s bus network is receiving an important update
RTA is implementing great improvements to make public transport in Dubai faster, more intelligent and more reliable. With intelligent systems and AI now feeding the network, buses are executed more efficiently, they keep the schedules better and keep the happiest runners.
Dubai’s fleet or 1,390 buses complete 11,000 daily trips, covering 333,000 km and attending more than 500,000 people, reaching 88% of the city.

What’s new?
RTA is adding 13 km or dedicated bus and taxis lanes, which raises the total at 20 km. This movement is established in:
- Cut travel times by 41%
- Improve bus arrival times by 42%
- Increase the number of passengers by 10%
The new smart bus stations are also on their way, with a better pedestrian and cycling access, sustainability and accessibility characteristics for all.
These updates are part of the RTA plan to make public transport the first option for daily trips, while supporting a greener and more connected Dubai.
