
Abu Dhabi woos Japanese businesses as UAE trade up 12 per cent in recent years

The EAU and Japan are seeking even more commercial relations between the two countries.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abu Dhabi (ADCCI) organized public and private sector leaders in the Bires Connect of Abu Dhabi – Japan in Tokyo to explore key investment opportunities and exchange ideas to advance sustainable development and innovation.
The forum, which was a hero in the presence of Shihab to the FAHEEM, Ambassador of the EAU in Japan, is in line with the efforts to strengthen cross -border associations and boost economic growth.
EAU and JAPAN COMERCIA
Ahmed Jasim al Zaabi, president of ADCCI, said: “Japan has played a fundamental role in the configuration of our development, from urban planning to industrial growth, and remains one of our main commercial partners.”
He pointed out that Japan trade has grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) or 11.9 percent in the last five years.

To Zaabi added: “Our advanced infrastructure, friendly business ecosystem, smart cities and quality of life have helped attract global talent, entrepreneurs and investors. Commerce has been a key rawer or this strong track, diversification of points.”
He pointed out that non -oil trade increased by 9 percent by 2024, while non -oil exports increased by 86.4 percent fair in the same period.
Al Zaabi emphasized the importance of regulatory reforms, the improved ease of doing business and digital integration perfect for global businesses, while working closely with Japan to build a future that empowers economies and inspires future generations.
Duration The event, ADCCI and the External Trade Organization of Japan (Jetro) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to deepen commercial relations and create new opportunities for collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Japan, reinforcing a shared vision for a long innovation, sustainability and advanced technologies.
The Mou was signed by Shamis Al Dhaheri, second vice president and managing director of ADCCI, and Nobuyuki Nakajima, managing director of Jotro Mena, in the presence of the EAU ambassador to Japan, Shihab al Faheem, marking the start of a new collaboration phase.
Al Dhaheri said: “The Mou with Jetro marks a key step to deepen economic ties between Abu Dhabi and Japan, while the forum provides a valuable platform to boost investment, foster innovation and build associations sustainable with key indies.
“By aligning around our values (growth, sustainability and technological progress, we are not only unlocking new commercial opportunities, but also contribute to a more connected and prosperous global economy.”
Nakajima said: “This is a significant milestone to improve the economic association between Japan and the United Arab Emirates. Japan undertakes to expand their collaboration with the EAU, and this sacrifices an invaluable opportunity to explore the mutual relationship and promotion.
“As both nations focus on innovation, sustainability and digital transformation, we are sure that the event will pave the path for innovative associations that will shape the future of both economies.”
