A delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) recently visited the UAE field hospital in Gaza, highlighting the critical humanitarian and medical role the facility has played in the region. Established by the UAE, the hospital has become a cornerstone of emergency healthcare, offering life-saving treatments, surgeries, and specialized care to thousands of patients, many of whom would otherwise face significant barriers to accessing quality medical services.
During their visit, WHO officials engaged closely with the medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and administrators, to better understand the hospital’s operational framework and logistical challenges. They expressed admiration for the UAE’s ability to maintain high standards of care in a conflict-affected zone, where shortages of medicines, equipment, and trained personnel are frequent. The delegation also acknowledged the hospital’s role in training local healthcare workers and enhancing Gaza’s capacity to respond to medical emergencies, an initiative that extends beyond immediate care to long-term resilience of the health system.
This trip really showed how much the UAE cares about helping people in the Arab world. They always try to give help when there’s a crisis. The UAE field hospital, with its tools, doctors, and constant help, has not just treated very sick people, but has also made the local people feel hopeful and safe. Patients and their families often said that the hospital is a place of stability, where they are cared for kindly and professionally. The WHO team’s visit is a sign that the world sees and approves of what the UAE is doing. It’s a great example of how helping people together can change lives and make healthcare better in the area.
The World Health Organization is planning to work even closer with the UAE to help more people get medical care, make sure there are always enough important medicines, and get better at responding to emergencies in Gaza. This shows how much good can come from countries working together to help out when things get tough.
