Mall of the Emirates Launches AED 5 Billion Expansion in Dubai

Dubai, UAE – The Mall of the Emirates is beginning a major AED 5 billion ($1.36 billion) expansion. This will strengthen its role as a top retail and leisure destination in the Middle East. The project will add 20,000 square meters of retail space and 100 new stores.

Majid Al Futtaim revealed the plans for the expansion, which will make the mall even more dynamic. It will become a bigger destination for locals and tourists in Dubai.

“The Dh5 billion investment will reshape the environment, enhance customer experiences, and introduce groundbreaking concepts,” said Khalifa Bin Braik, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management.

🌟 A New Indoor-Outdoor Retail and Dining Experience

The expansion will feature an indoor-outdoor precinct. It will combine fast-casual dining with interactive entertainment. The mall will also debut its first-ever outdoor F&B courtyard in early 2027. This space will transform into a lush green oasis during Dubai’s cooler months.

🚗 Improved Infrastructure and Visitor Access

The expansion will also include barrierless Parkin parking, upgraded access roads, and bridge improvements. These changes will help traffic flow better. Visitors will also have easier access from Sheikh Zayed Road and the Umm Suqeim bridge.

🌱 A Strong Commitment to Sustainability

Moreover, the mall has earned LEED Platinum certification. It is the world’s largest operational mall to receive this honor. The mall has already saved 53 million kilowatt-hours of energy and 141,400 cubic meters of water.
