Self-Service Ticketing Machines Introduced at Saqqara to Enhance Visitor Experience

In line with Egypt push For digital transformation in the tourism sector, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques has launched self -service ticket machines on the archaeological site of Saqqara on Thursday, June 12, June. accordance to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques.

The initiative, part of a broader strategy to Improve The quality of services in patrimonial sites and museums aims to make the ticket process more efficient and reduce overcrowding in traditional ticket windows. Visitors, both Egyptians and foreigners, can now wear bank cards to buy entry tickets directly from the new machines.

Accordance For Mohamed Ismail Khaled, general secretary of the Supreme Antiques Council, the measure is part of the Integrated Electronic Ticket System of the Ministries, which also allows visitors to reserve online tickets eating in Egymonuments.com o through automated counters on the site.

The Ministry Plans To gradually expand the installation of these machines to other sites throughout the country as part of a scheduled deployment.

Mohamed Shaaban Digital Services Assistant Minister confirm That machines accept only electronic payments and are part of a broader system that also includes the experience of the Mobile Egypt application and a centralized ticket sales center for tourism companies.

To date, the electronic ticket system has been activated in 110 museums and archaeological sites nationwideincluding important reference points such as the Pyramids Giza plateau, the Egyptian museum in Tahrir, the Citadel of Saladina, the Karnak temple and the Abu Simbel temple.
