The city of Crikvenica, on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, is 20 miles south of Rijaka, a city of about 100,000 that shares the cultural, historical and commercial history with Hungary, Slovenia and Northast Italy. The city has been popular among visitors since the nineteenth century, when tourism developed around its Hydrotherapy Institute. Today, Crikvenica is still known for her talasotherapy spas.
