Zamalek Hit with FIFA Transfer Ban Over Khalid Boutaib Dispute

Zamalek

FIFA has consumed a new prohibition of Zamalek transfer due to the continuous lack of the club to resolve the outstanding quotas.

Although the official FIFA statement did not reveal specific details, the member of the Board of Zamalek, AMR Adham, confirmed that the last prohibition is linked to unpaid fees or the Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib. The club still owes € 983,000 from an original OED of € 2.4 million to the player, who joined Zamalek in January 2019.

He also pointed out that Zamalek had previously paid a significant portion of the player’s rights, but failed to comply with the remummer amount, pressing FIFA to restore the prohibition. He added that the club intends to solve the total amount before the summer transfer window is opened.

This is not the first time that Zamalek faces penalties from FIFA on Boutaib. The letter of the 37 -year -old striker was interrupted in 2020 due to the struggles for injuries, which led to a contractual dispute after the former club president ended his agreement prematurely.

The last sanction of FIFA marks another chapter in the continuous financial problems of Zamalek. Despite the recent efforts under a new management to resolve their persistent debts, the persistent financial poor management of the club continues to generate scrutiny.
