Dubai, UAE At GITEX 2025, Robots Don’t Just Move They Understand

The future has never felt this real.
At GITEX Global 2025, inside the Dubai World Trade Centre, the air buzzes with wonder. Visitors aren’t just watching technology — they’re interacting with it. Robots glide through the crowd, holding conversations, assisting attendees, and even teaching lessons with a distinctly human warmth.

Among the dazzling innovations, one creation is stealing the spotlight — Sanad, the UAE’s first homegrown teaching robot designed to bring empathy into education.

A New Face of Learning

Sanad isn’t your ordinary classroom assistant. It’s a thinking, feeling companion — one that understands students’ needs and adjusts accordingly.

Behind this remarkable creation is Latifa Alhammadi, Academic Vice Principal at Al Ethaar School (Emirates Schools Establishment) in Abu Dhabi. Her vision was simple yet powerful: build a robot that supports, not replaces.

“Sanad means ‘support’ in Arabic,” she explains. “That’s the heart of this project — giving teachers and students a partner that adapts, encourages, and grows with them.”

Developed as part of Alhammadi’s PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Sanad was completed in just five to six months — a stunning achievement that blends academic insight with practical innovation.

Built in the UAE, Built for the Future

Entirely conceptualized and assembled in the UAE, Sanad symbolizes the nation’s growing commitment to embedding AI in education.
Currently programmed to teach English, it personalizes learning by tracking each student’s progress. Fast learners are challenged with higher difficulty levels, while those who struggle are given simplified lessons — ensuring every child learns at their own pace.

Beyond academics, Sanad also holds casual conversations during breaks, helping students sharpen their social and language skills.

The next versions promise even more: advanced sensors, built-in cameras, and facial recognition so students can be greeted by name — no logins, no barriers.

Innovation Takes Center Stage

Sanad wasn’t alone in captivating GITEX 2025. Other robotic marvels joined the stage, each redefining what machines can do.

Booster T1, a humanoid robot standing 1.2 meters tall, stunned visitors with its agility and human-like balance. Weighing around 30 kilograms and equipped with 23 degrees of freedom, it can recover from falls and navigate obstacles with ease. After shining at RoboCup 2024, it now serves as an official global robotics partner.

Then came the X30 Quadruped Robot, a four-legged powerhouse designed for industrial inspections, mapping, and security. With its ability to climb 45-degree stairways and maneuver across rough terrains, it proved that robots aren’t just smart — they’re strong.

Its modular battery system and sensory perception suite let it function in near darkness or blazing sunlight, adapting to any environment.

A Tomorrow Already in Motion

What makes GITEX 2025 special isn’t just the technology — it’s the emotion behind it.

From Sanad’s compassionate teaching to the X30’s relentless precision, each robot represents the UAE’s belief that innovation should serve humanity, not overshadow it.

Dubai’s message to the world is clear: the age of intelligent machines isn’t a distant dream —
it’s already here, walking, teaching, and evolving beside us.
