Want the cooler weather to last longer? Your wish might just come true. The UAE’s weather department forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with rainfall from Sunday night to Monday.
Light to moderate showers were reported by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) over Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region and Expo in Dubai, with a chance of heavier downpours in some northern and eastern regions.
Coastal areas will experience humidity during Monday night and Tuesday morning. Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the Southwesterly to Northwesterly directions, occasionally freshening, with speeds ranging from 10 to 20 km/h, reaching up to 35 km/h at times. The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
The region is currently experiencing an extension of a surface low pressure, accompanied by an extension of an upper air trough of low-pressure. This typically means the development of unstable weather conditions. Here’s how it affects the region:
- Surface low pressure: This indicates a disturbance at ground level where the air pressure is lower than surrounding areas. It often leads to cloud formation, potential rainfall, and gusty winds.
- Upper air trough of low pressure: This suggests that there is a dip or area of low pressure in the higher altitudes of the atmosphere. It can cause cool, moist air to rise, leading to increased cloud development and rainfall.
These weather patterns suggest a higher likelihood of cloudy skies, rainfall, and unpredictable weather. The rain could range from light to moderate in most areas, but some regions, particularly in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE, could experience heavier rainfall. Additionally, stronger winds and cooler temperatures might accompany these systems.
