Farasan Islands celebrate annual harid fish arrival

Riad: The coasts of the Farasan Islands are witnessing the annual arrival of large Harid fish schools, which travel for months from the Indian Ocean, through the Arabic Sea, and towards the Red Sea. Harid Fish, or Parrotfish, is a kind of various species that inhabit coral reefs and plays a key role in the marine ecosystem. Recognizable for its parrot peak and vibrant colors, the Harid thrives in habitats rich in coral, with more than 90 species, each with unique shapes and colors.
