HKICPA renews its Mutual Recognition Agreement with CPA Australia

The HKICPA has celebrated the ARM with CPAA since 2000, who was the development opportunities for accounting professionals in Hong Kong. The new 5 -year -old ARM between HKICPA and CPAA continues to improve the mobility of the professional development of its members. HKICPA members who complete the HKICPA qualification program (QP) and who have at least three years of relevant practical experience in accounting, can request the CPAA membership through the ARM. On the other hand, the members of the CPAA that complete the CPA program and that have at least three years of relevant practical experience in accounting, can request the HKICPA membership after completing the institute’s aptitude test in Hong Kong or Capstone or Capstone tone.
In addition, the new ARM has improved in several aspects to relieve the way for members of both professional bodies to obtain professional qualifications offered by HKICPA and CPAA. These improvements include extending eligibility for HKICPA membership relaxing the geographical limitation on the origin of the university degrees obtained by CPAA members and eliminating geographical restrictions in its termination of CPAA in its ending in their ending. Hkicpa believes that MRA’s improved ARM attracts more accounting talents abroad to search for qualification as HKICPA members and work in Hong Kong.
