Las Vegas: The number 1 of the world Nelly Korda Avodó a second consecutive collapse, but Ariya Juanugen held her advantage in group 1 game on Thursday in the T-Mobile game in North Las Vegas, Nevada, Nevada
Korda builds an advantage and hero to finish 1 in Jennifer Kupcho, who fell to 0-2 at the event. That marked an improvement since Wednesday for Korda, when the defending champion was formed with half of his game after losing a late advantage to Brittany Altomare.
“The golf does not necessarily take out (face -to -face competitiveness) unless you are in a playoff or so on,” Korda said. “(Simply) it makes you a little more aggressive from a player.”
Juanugarn, or Thailand, won 2 and 1 against Altomare to continue leading Group 1, thought he will face Korda in the final stage of Round Robin on Friday. A victory there would give the group any of the players.
The 64 players field is divided into 16 groups of four players competing in three days of Round-Robin matches. A victory wins a point, a draw wins a half point and a loss is zero points. The winner of each group goes to a support of 16 players and eliminating a single elimination starting on Saturday. In the case of a draw for first place in a group, a playoff will determine which player advances. The quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, with the semifinals and the final on Sunday.
In general, 12 golfers are 2-0 for two days of the game in the Shadow Creek golf course, putting each one in a strong position to win their group and advance to the field of 16 people on Saturday.
Jeeno Thitikul from Thailand defeated Gaby Lopes 2 and 1 from Mexico to reach 2-0 in Group 2. Sei Young Kim from South Korea overturned Yuna Nishimura 4 and 2 from Japan to advance 2-0 in group 4.
Group 5 presents Stephanie Kyriacou of Australia leading the way with 2-0 after her 4 and 2 victory over Ayaka Furue of Japan.
The only group with a couple or 2-0 golfers is Group 9, since Hyo Joo Kim from South Korea and Maja Stark of Sweden are still perfect and face Friday.
Other 2-0 golfers after two days include Mao Saigo in Japan in Group 7 (the only 2-0 debut golf), Brooke M. Henderson de Canada in group 8 (after playing only playing 27 holes, the least in the field), South Boutier, South a Limine Ingroup 11, Madelene Sagstrom in group 14 and South Korea Narin in the group 16.
Group 3 and 13 has a four-way draw for first place in 1-1-0, while Charley Hull from England and Ashleigh Buhai of South Africa co-leader in group 6 with 1-0-1.
“I love this format and it’s a lot of fun,” said Lydia Ko in New Zealand after winning his Thursday 6 and 5 match on the Gabriela flyers of Australia to enter that four -way draw in group 3.
Angel Yin (1-0-1) leads Group 10, and Nataliya Guseva de Russia (1-0-1) is at the top of group 15.
