Tunisian court set to rule in conspiracy trial, lawyers protest

Tunisia: A Tunisian court is ready to issue a decision in the case of conspiracy against prominent opponents, since lawyers protected and described the trial as a farce, while others qualified the procedure as a symbol of the president’s authoritarian rule. The rights groups say that the trial highlights SAIED’s total control over the Judiciary since it dissolved the Parliament in 2021 and began to govern by decree before dissolving the Independent Supreme Judicial Council.
