Review: Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa, Thailand

The moment could not have been better. It was the week of the launch of the season 3 of White Lotus, and the hotel theme show was filmed on the island of Koh Samui, where we stayed. The atmosphere was electric, as was our anticipation. So, in two friends, they get used to their own white lotus experience, hopefully with all the beauty but none of the drama.

Our driver ended by the bustling streets, with people, scooters and dogs that moved in all directions. Driving fit a beautifully red wall with lush vegetation that appeared in parts, I asked the driver that the temple was. Upon turning, he showed a quick smile, saying that this was our hotel. In marked contrast to the hustle and bustle, we were about to enter the sanctuary of Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa. There was a clear feeling of being welcome in a sacred space.

The welcome

Thai hospitality is recognized for being world class, and this was evident from the beginning. We were well received with smiles, a fresh towel, a welcome drink and tasty snacks. After establishing the paperwork, they took us to a golf cart and began to roll the complex. More in the gardens later, but it is enough to say that the intoxicating fragrance, in harmony with waterfall water characteristics, filled our senses.

The room

Starting at the adorned wooden doors, I knew we had arrived. Previously, the magical words “have updated it to a pool villa” made us smile (there is something to say as a member of Marriott Bonvoy). Opening the doors, we first enter a patio of orange mosaic with peach with similar colored walls, giving a adobe sensation close to the tropical environment. Entering the main door, a large living room and open floor bedroom appeared.

The lounge sofa doubled as a sleeping sofa, with a large television for inactivity time, along with a mini stop and a coffee station. Conveniently, the front could be opened with key cards and the Marriott application on our phones, the last one for entry without complications. The four plump bed wrapped in an elegant network that lasts the day the bed was an elegant ornament for the room, while at night, there was protection against any wandering insect. Adjacent to the bed and the living room, the windows opened to a small pond: I would lie in bed and look at a variety of birds visiting and splash like a form of breathing of heat.

The bathroom

Separated by sliding bamboo doors, the bathroom first housed the bathroom cubicle, and after the dressers, the shower. In the orientation of the room, he intrigued when the butler told me that it was a combination of shower and dual bath: I opened the door, I discovered that the bright blue tile really formed a quite large bathtub, which I later enjoyed with double bubbles (both in glass and in bathroom). The comforts were provided by the infused argus of fragrances by Margot Elena.

Through a white curtain sheath at the end of the bathroom, the pool appears, a good cooling of size and welcome of the tropical humidity clung. The intelligent pool design offers a liar section on one side and a deeper area in the other, complemented with sun loungers.

Everything you need to plan your trip in 2025

The facilities

Meals and sandwiches are in sacrifice in two restaurants dedicated to gastronomic well -being or the guests of the Renaissance. For relaxed food throughout the day, banana sheet sacrifices the international dishes of the menus menus, as well as an opulent fusion breakfast buffet in the morning. Meals can be enjoyed in the pool or even on the beach, with the conscious staff of the pool bar ready to guarantee a supply of liquid soft drinks.

In Tawann, with its high patio and exquisite views of the Bay of Lamai, Thailand comes alive with artisanal inheritance designed for the western palate. The seafood are, or of course, a pillar, but the outstanding dish here is a cheek of beef cooked to Socseaman Curry with a rich Thai aromatic fusion curry sauce. Melt-in-the-Mouth delegable! You can also ask for meals, and if it is organized with the janitage in advance, you can prepare a barbecue to enjoy in the private luxury of your villa.

The main pool of the complex is a set in a courted amphitheater and terraced directly on the beach. 50 meters, it is perfect for swimming or simply cooling in the swirl pool. Day beds are available to rest, and towels are provident. Sun worshipers take care of themselves on the beach, with umbrellas and sun chairs for comfort, as well as a complete service from the bar to 7 pm

Outside the pool catwalk is Quan Spa. Located in its own enclosure, the Commons spa sacrifices quiet spaces for restoration and full attention. Enjoy therapies for the body and face, enjoy the serene relaxation relaxation, unique a yoga class in the Playa del Espa pavilion and reserve a deep penetration launch massage – ask Rose, who had a massage therapy.

The location

Renaissance Resort and Spa is 30 minutes away from the airport and is located at a stone shot from the famous Chaweng beach. You can easily access a variety of local places, including Big Buddha Temple, Lamai Beach and Bophut Fisherman’s Village. The hotel browser (the catchy term for the hotel’s concierge planner) is Khet, who has gathered a 3 -hour voice of the area using his local experience.

Other beautiful touches

As one of the most established resorts in Koh Samui, the Renaissance has a carefully selected brand of the complex experience. Located between the landscapes on terraces of lush vegetation and tropical wealth, the complex emulates serenity and sacred charm of traditional balinese architecture, with sizes, statues and a harmonious connection with nature through nature. Botanical galleries full of exotic flora hug you at all levels. The highlights, complete with axis towers, sculptures and bas -relief facilities, everyone adds to invitation guests to a unique and completely local environment.

Particularly surveyed in the early morning, when the lotus sprouts are still in flower and the song of the birds fills the air, their walk to the restaurant for that first coffee, where for the day three cups, its cup, as it likes it, establishes the forest of internships

The cost

The rates begin around £ 209 for two adults in the rooms, increasing to £ 359 for a villa with a private pool and a patio. The magic of the Renaissance, however, is found in the value packages. Changing to £ 359 for rooms and £ 524 for villas, including villas, include: daily breakfast, a 2 -plates lunch, unlimited 2 -hour drinks for 2 hours and round -trip airport transfers.

The best bit

The main stretch of the Renaissance Beach includes a large granite rock with an equally large tree that grows next to it, providing shadow at the top. The hotel has tried the steps through the rock, and from the top, the views are united. I would go up several times a day and sat there in my little rock place, looking at the beach. It can be the most beautiful location on the island for Sunset Slowners. Back at home, I knew that I would mentally return to this place every time I never reminded me of how Paat and Traility feel.

The final verdict

In addition to the careful gardens, the luxurious accommodation, the views that the soul affirm, the iconic days of the beach with full -service pool time, delicious food and transcendental massage sessions (with much, the best we experience), even the show stars of the species. From the first to the last “Sawasdee Ka”, you are treated as the gift. The service is delivered with discreet grace and kindness. The Renaissance knows the nuances of hospitality as the back of his hands, extended in welcome and appreciation. Little demanding comfort. Sedate. Peace. Welcome.
