
Space42 and Viasat Forge Strategic Partnership for 5G Non-Terrestrial Network Development

Space42 and Viasat, Inc. have signed at Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to investigate ecosystem partnership opportunities for the development of a 5G-Niet-Terreinnetwerk (NTN) initiative.
This collaboration marks an important step in the direction of the expansion of global satellite connectivity, aimed at direct-to-device (D2D) communication, narrow band IoT (NB-ICT) and mobile satellite services (MSS) of the next generation.
As part of the first phase, the companies will develop a shared, multi-Tain, Multi-Aorbit 5G NTN infrastructure with the help of a standards-based open architecture. The proposed infrastructure will use L-band, S-band and Terrestrial Spectrum Toable Seamless global roaming between regional networks.
The partnership is also aimed at improving the efficient and sustainability of satellite networks, in accordance with Evolver 5G models and global telecommunication regulations. Stick to the best practices of the industry set out by the Mobile Satellite Services Association (MSSA) and 3GPP standards, the interoperability of the collaboration -Terosis with global telecom networks.
