San Agustín, Florida – A black bear was seen wandering through the streets of the oldest city in the nations on Tuesday morning, which led the police to warn residents who are attentive to the creature.
The St. Police Department of Augustine launched a video that showed the bear climbing a wall around the historic St. George Street corridor before disappearing, probably through one of the many alleys in the city.
Many of the sightings occurred in the Center region, a heavy area visited by tourists, which celebrates the foundation of the city by European explorers in 1565.
Animal specialists say that the bear is not considered a threat to the community, but stated that sighting services as a reminder of the season.

At this time of the year, young bears begin to disperse in search of new territory, or take them to more urban areas.
“It is important to maintain a respectful distance and never run. Black bears prefer to avoid people and generally will advance rapidly,” police said.
The sighting in St. Johns County County one day after a deadly attack of black bears in southwest Florida, where a man and his dog were killed in what officials believe that it is the first fatal bear attack documented in the history of the state.
In response to the informed incident, the Florida Fishing and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported that three bears were sacrificed in the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area and DNA analysis will be performed to determine IFAal animals.
While wildlife officials emphasized that bears attacks against humans remain extremely rare, encounters are becoming increasingly common, with populations of humans and black bears in the increase.
The population of black bears of the State has been significantly recovered in recent decades and now it is estimated that it exceeds 4,000.
According to FWC, adult male bears in Florida generally weigh between 250 and 450 pounds, while adult women vary from 125 to 250 pounds.
Due to the growing population and increased sightings, the FWC is currently a consultation that restores the annual black bears hunting of the State, which has faced a public reaction.
