
WhatsApp Launches ‘Lists’ Feature in UAE to Enhance Chat Organization

What is the ‘lists’ function?
The function enables users to filter their chats in adapted categories such as family, friends, colleagues or neighborhoods, making it easier to concentrate on release interviews when needed.
Users can make and edit lists by tapping the “+” button in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab or by suppressing an existing list. Just like the ‘Favorites’ option, Bush Group and individual chats can contain and appear in the filter bar.
Standard lists available
WhatsApp offers Four standard lists For users:
- All: Reflects all chats in one place.
- Unread: Contains messages that are unread or are not open.
- Favorites: Contains chats with the most important contacts of the user.
- Groups: Consolidates all group chats in one category.
How lists work
- If selected, lists of green are marked and remain active until the filter display has changed or WhatsApp has been reopened.
- Chats cannot be reorganized in the All, Unread of Groups categories.
- Contacts added to favorites apply to the Chats tab, the list of favorites and the calling tab.
- Users can create custom lists to organize conversations in separate, easily accessible categories.

Part of a larger WhatsApp -update
The list of lists was first rolled out worldwide October 31, 2024. In January 2025, Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, introduced in the series of new updates, including creative camera effects, adapted selfie stickers and improved message reactions to improve the user experience.
