Riad: Saudi Arabia stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the water sector to address global challenges, emphasizing the need for integrated management of water resources to ensure sustainability, overcome water shortage and develop resources.
Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, Deputy Minister of Water from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, said that Vision 2030 prioritizes water sustainability as a key pillar of national development, the Saudi press agency reported.
In the “Agua Community Value” forum in Rome, Al-Shaibani said that,
The forum addressed the challenges of Italy’s water, including climate change, the decrease in groundwater levels and the need for advanced technologies to maintain water resources.
Al-Shaibani described the National Water Strategy 2030, focusing on the development of alternative water sources, reducing the dependence on non-renewable groundwater, the improvement of gifts, the improvement of distribution networks and the loss of water loss.
Hello, he also highlighted the world efforts of Saudi Arabia in the water, including participation in initiatives such as G20 and collaboration with UN organizations.
Al-Shaibani emphasized investment opportunities in the Saudi water sector, special in private sector associations, advanced technologies and contributions to the research and development of infrastructure.
On World Water Day, observed on March 22, Saudi Arabia is recognized as the world’s largest water producer and a leader in water innovation, using artificial intelligence in gifts to improve efficiency and reduce the environmental impact, according to SPA.

The Saudi Water Authority, in collaboration with all those interested in the water sector, is redefining the sustainable water management to maintain the leadership of the kingdom in the efficient management of water resources despite scarcity.
The authority supervises the daily production of approximately 15 million cubic meters of water, which is distributed in 14,000 km or pipes at 135,000 km or networks through the kingdom.
KSRELIEF has supported the water and sanitation sectors in the affected countries, implementing 105 projects related to water worth more than $ 301 million in safe environments of 16 nations and improve water safety.
Yemen is the largest beneficiary, with 46 projects for a total of more than $ 238 million, including the distribution of drinking water, well drilling and improving access to water and sanitation in medical care centers.
In Syria, Ksrelief has completed four projects to improve water safety, including emergency services for earthquake victims, the establishment of water purification stations and rehabilitation of water stations and waste management systems in IDLIB.
Ksrelief has also implemented five main projects in Sudan, benefits almost six million people, including drilling or 33 medium depth wells.
In Mali, Ksrelief has drilled 250 shallow wells and 15 medium depth wells, and 52 wells in Ghana, providing clean water, reducing diseases transmitted by water and supporting agriculture and cattle.
Ksrelief recently signed a joint agreement with the UN Development Program to help the water and sanitation sector of Gaza, benefiting a million people.
The agency’s projects extend to Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar and Niger, with the aim of improving the safety and sustainability of water, reflecting the commitment of Saudi Arabia to address the challenges of global water for future generations.
