My California road trip diary

Recently, we made a road trip to the north to San Francisco, a small family getaway with my brother -in -law and his girlfriend, who were visiting from France. It was the perfect excuse to spend quality time together and explore more of the state of gold.

California is such an expansive and several place, full of lovely towns and cities, each offering something unique. I feel lucky to call this state home, but I have realized how much of that I have not yet discovered. So, we packed our bags and go to the road, because what better way to take California than from the car, windows down, packed snacks?

First stop, Santa Barbara. I thought I have been in Santa Barbara several times, it’s always a welcome stop. He is the boy of the place that feels relaxing, perfect to take a bite, make a small showcase or take a walk along the beach. If you are planning a visit, I recommend the historic mission of Santa Barbara, drinking coffee and heading to the water, or stopping in a nearby cellar for a tasting.

As we were in Santa Barbara County, we made a brief deviation to Montecito. Technically part of SB, but with a personality, all its owner, a little more exclusive and incredible. Think of an excellent meal, boutique purchases and lush green environments. We visited the Montecito Country Mart, a charming outdoor shopping center with a sensation of small village. It is full of cured stores of household items, organic restaurants and market -style cars that reminded me of the corners of Europe about fresh products, flowers and local findings. It is a jewel that I would love to visit again.

After some more stops, we arrived in Santa Cruz. I had never been before, but I was instantly attracted to its relaxed atmosphere, picturesque and colorful beaches in front of the beach. We walked through the lively center of the city, and possible we headed to the beach. It was foggy but beautiful: we sat down and listed the clash of the waves, while the sun immersed itself behind the horizon. One of those magical sunsets that stays with you.

Our last stop was San Francisco, a city that I visited many times, but it always seems inspiring. There is much to do: from taking photos on the iconic door of the door to visit the painted ladies, explore Chinatown to get an incredible meal or spend a day at Fisherman’s Wharf. There, you can enjoy restaurants, stores, tours of the bay and some quite impressive street performances. Main Council: Capa: San Francisco is cold, only in summer.
