UAE Qualify For 2025 BWF World Championships In Paris

 

In an innovative moment for the EAU Bádminton, Taabia Omar and Mysha Omar represented the United Arab Emirates in the BWF 2025 World Championship in Paris, marking the most prestigious annual event of De Sport in the Nation. The championship will take place in the iconic Adidas Arena from August 25 to 31.

This milestone not only places the EAU on the global map of Bádminton, but also feeds the dreams of aspiring players in the Emirates, underlining the growing prominence of sport in the region.

EUA’s rising stars

Taabia Omar, 19, is already a name to take into account, having become the number 1 in the world in female doubles and occupied the second place in mixed doubles in the World Ranking of BWF.

Mysha Omar, her younger sister who turns 17 at the end of this year, previously occupied the 10th position in the world in women’s and double singles (with Taabia). She claimed international acclamation in 2024 by winning the title of Singles of the Girls in the Junior All-England Championship, an innovative achievement after her previous double victories.

Way to Paris

Both sisters are products from the High Performance Department of the EAU BADMINTON, under the leadership of the performance director Michael Norbek. His daily training takes place in Battledore Sports Academy, Dubai, under the expert training of Alfaz Kalam. His trip reflects the vision of the future of the EAU Bádminton Federation that encompasses inclusion and allows resident athletes to achieve international success while representing the nation.

Eyes on the world stage

With the final preparations in progress, Taabia and Mysha will compete among the elite of the world in Paris. Its qualification is more than a personal achievement: it symbolizes the emergence of the Badminton of the EAU and the growing potential of regional talent fed through dedication, structure and Baelief.
