Why Tool Weren’t Going to Play Black Sabbath’s Farewell Show

 

The tool is one of the many bands ready to play the farewell show “Back to the Begins” by Black Sabbath next month, but initially will continue to participate in it.

Duration an interview with Guitar world, Adam Jones recalled that he and the reaction of his bandmates when Tom Morello approached them for the first time, who works as the musical director of the event.

“The four were talking on the phone or sending text messages, I don’t remember, and someone was:” I don’t think I can do it. “Someone else was:” Okay, yes, I think I’m going to do this something else “… I think it was only,” yes, let’s not do it. “But it was really an honor that asked us,” Jones said.

A few months later, however, Morello asked Jones if he would be interested in playing a song with him and crushing Billy Corgan of Pumpkins in the show. When Jones agreed, he learned that Danny Carey and Maynard James Keenan had also signed to play with other musicians.

“I was,” I didn’t know. “He hit me and said: ‘If the three are there, and I know justin [Chancellor] I will want to do it. “I return to our people and it was:” Why don’t we? We will all be there. “This happened and why it was announced later,” explained the guitarist.

Metallica, Guns N ‘Roses, Slayer, Panther, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Anthrax and Rival Sons are the other bands in the “Back To the Beginning” alignment, in addition to tools, Saturdays and Ozzy. The show will take place on July 5 in Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
