Jack Doohan thanked his team from Alpine for the opportunity to have demonstrated it, while recognizing that his degradation to book the team driver is difficult to take.

After a constant speculation that Franco Colapint would have the opportunity to compete for Alpine, he always signed a reserve role in January, the team announced on Wednesday that the former Williams pilot will replace Doohan with the Romagna Emilia. The movement occurs after Doohan has started only seven races in total for Alpine, surpassing his teammate Pierre Gasly for the first time in Miami.

“I am very proud to have achieved my lifelong ambition to be a professional formula 1 driver and I will always be grateful to the team for helping me achieve this dream,” said Doohan. “Obviously, this last chapter is difficult for me because, as a professional pilot, naturally, I want to run.

“That said, I appreciate the confidence and commitment of the team. We have long -term objectives as a team to achieve and I will continue giving my maximum efforts in any way I can help them achieve them. For now, I will keep my head down, watching my next race and hooking my next race and seeing my next races. Objectives.”

Alpine says he will carry out a new driver evaluation before the British Grand Prix in July, with the race in Silverstone the second consecutive weekend with Austria.

Doohan scored a better end of the 13th place in China, with the Australian pilot withdrawing from the first round of the season in his local career in Melbourne and again the last time in Miami after the first round with Liam Lawson.
