Egypt to Officially Roll Out 5G Services This Week

 

Egypt is configured for launch 5G mobile services on Wednesday, June 4, marking an important step in the country’s digital transformation efforts.

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) announced That four main operators, Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, E & Egypt and Telecom Egypt, will begin offering 5G services after a combined investment of USD 2.7 billion in spectrum and licenses of 2019.

The official launch event will take place near The pyramids, with Prime Minister Mostafa Madboulny and several members of the cabinet hoped to attend.

5G introduction is expected to improve high -speed connectivity, support the development of smart cities and allow advances in sectors such as medical care and infrastructure.

It will also allow the simultaneous operation of a large number of connected devices, a key component of emerging technologies and internet ecosystems (IoT).

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, AMR Talaat, previously declared that the 5G movement will significantly promote the digital economy of Egypt and strengthen its position in the global ICT classifications.

Earlier In October 2024, Egypt granted its final round of 5G licenses to telecommunications operators, including an agreement of USD 675 million for Vodafone, Orange and E & Egypt, after a similar surveyor with the Telecom Egypt Egypt previous.
