
London, Kentucky family rescues trapped neighbors, finds bodies after deadly tornado

Fox Weather’s correspondent, Katie Byrne, speaks with a survivor from London, Kentucky who lost her home. Carrie Davis, her husband, her children and dogs stuck in the basement when the EF-3 tornado demolished her neighborhood. After the storm, the family helped the neighbors trapped and injured. Unfortunately, they also found victims of the storm.
London, ky. – Carrie Davis and her family left the basement of her London, Kentucky, home on Friday after an EF-3 tornado destroyed her entire neighborhood. They jumped to action, finding buried and injured neighbors, as well as those who did not survive the storm.
Davis spoke with the Fox climate correspondent, Katie Byrne, from where his house was once. Only the opening was opened to the basement that saved his life, two days after the tornado killed at least 17 people in Laurel County.

“We were desired, “Davis said.” They were my children, and we had the dogs, the cats and all in the basement, and our ears exploded, and then everything collapsed. “
The preliminary qualification of the tornado is at least one EF-3, based on the improved Fujita scale, but the damage to the national weather service is not complete. The winds of a tornado of this caliber vary from 153-206 mph.

After emerging from the first warning of tornadoes, Davis said the family only tried to “save as many people as we can.” His 19 -year -old son grabbed his emergency medical kit and helped a neighbor with a broken femur. Another neighbor had a serious stomach injury, and another had two broken legs.
“He raised him and threw him on his shoulder,” he said. “Another storm approached, so we had to run to the basement.”
After the next storm passed, they tried to help the injured people.
“We keep listening to people screaming,” someone helped me! Help us! Help us! “” Davis recalled.

Davis said his family also found some of the people who were killed by this monstrous storm, which is a trauma that the family will not forget soon.
“That’s difficult to see for a 19 -year -old,” Davis said. “It will need much or help after this. It’s difficult. It’s really difficult.”
The first to respond locals told Fox Weather that the London Tornado is probably the deadliest in the history of the community.
