
Vowles signs new long-term deal to stay at Williams

Williams has announced that James Vowles has signed a new long -term contract to remain in his role as team director.
Vowles joined Williams at the beginning of Mercedes’s 2023 season and has helped develop the team under the property or capital Dorilton to become a constant corridor of the center of the field. Currently, sitting fifth in the classification, but with the aim of returning Williams at the end of the network and fighting for victories and championships in the future, Vowles has now committed in the long term.
“We are delighted that James has signed a new contract with Atlassian Williams Racing and committed his future to complete the mission we are together,” said Williams President and Dorilton Capital, Matthew Savage. “He has brought experience, energy and strategic leadership to the task of restoring Williams to the upper pass of the podium. We are not there yet, but you can the impulse we are building in Grove and you are excited about what is coming.”
Williams has already scored more points this season than in the previous three years combined, not scoring in only two occasions in 2025, and Vowles says that the bases are being built to obtain better results in the future.
“I am delighted to sign a new contract with the Atlassian Williams Racing, which has felt at home from the moment I entered the door,” Vowles said. “This iconic team has already given me some incredible memories and we are all united in our ambition to build our legacy and win the world championships again. In the last two years we have focused on hiding the GOs.
Vowles is already the fifth director of the longest team on the network, only behind Christian Horner in Red Bull, Toto Wolff in Mercedes, Andrea Stella in McLaren and Fred Vasseur in Ferrari.
