
UNESCO and SACIT Join Hands with ICONCRAFT to Celebrate Thai Artisans and Thailand’s Creative Cities Network

Bangkok, Thailand – Media Outreach Newswire – June 19, 2025 – UNESCO and Institute of Sustainable Arts and Crafts of Thailand (Public Organization)A promotion of the national agency Thai crafts have joined Icon– The Thailand Creative Innovation Center – to launch the campaign, “UNESCO X SACIT X ICONCRAFT: A celebration of Thai artisans and creative cities.
This national initiative celebrates the cultural legacy of Thai textile traditions of the seven creative cities of UNESCO in Thailand. These patrimonial textiles, designed by national artisan masters, are reinvented in contemporary fashion pieces by seven of Thailand’s main design houses, as well as the prestigious brand Sirivannavari, founded by its Royal Highness Princess.
The event, which was attended by the general director of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, on her first official visit to Thailand, launches a long -term collaboration to empower cultural entrepreneurs, promote sustainable innovation, inspire young people to follow careers in creativity. It also reinforces Thailand’s commitment to the Network of Creative Cities of UNESCO (UCCN), which includes more than 350 cities worldwide. The renowned creative cities of Thailand: Phuket, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Sukhothai, Phetchaburi, Chiang Rai and Suphanburi – Sirvy -Servey as the basis of this initiative and its distinctive cultural assets inspire the exhibition designs.
The highlight of the event
In the heart of this exhibition there is a collaboration between seven first-class Thai fashion brands and local handmade grouts, and each designer creates two exclusive outfits inspired by a different creative city appearance in total in total:
- ATELIER PICHITA – Designs inspired by Tai Lue textiles Tai Lue tissue group of the teacher Dokkaew Of Chiang Rai
- Theater – Designs that use Black Tai textiles (Thai Song DAM) Ban Don Manow Thai Song Song Dam Weaving Group In Suphanburi

Sirivannavavari X Collaboration of Chansoma
Among the most outstanding creations are two exclusive clutch bags, personally designed by its real princess alteration, Sirivannavari Narirana Rajakanya. Elaborated Kaew Ching Duang Silk – a textile that symbolizes prosperity and harmony – the thesis pieces were hand woven by the Weatham National Artisanal Master Taragoonnernthai, founder of the Chansoma Fire in the province of Surin. Embrayed with exquisite details, each clutch is a unique creation in its kind, designed for this occasion.
Real Ensemble exposure
Another outstanding event is the first public exhibition of supply in Thailand of eight Thai real sets used for its royal highness princess servednavari Narirana Rajakanya, curated by the Queen Sirikit textile museum. The designs, by Tirapan Wannararat, founder of the Tirapano Fashion House and Thailand of the National Artist of Visual Arts (Fashion Design) 2019, will be exhibited from June 25 to 29 in Iconuxe Avenue, M Floor, Iconsiam.
The outstanding sets include:
- Thai Ranean Ton dress – Made from spoiled silk with Chao FA motifs, inspired by traditional teak wood houses in the Dusit Palace
- Thai jet dress – A formal silk outfit with foot -eyed patterns and embroidered embroidered embroidery

Event calendar
The special collection will debut in Crafts Bangkok 2025, from June 18 to 22, 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, before its formal launch on June 25 in Iconsiam.
Together with the Textile Showcase and Royal Attles exhibition, visitors will have the rare opportunity to buy or offer for selected pieces. A special auction will include the limited edition silk clutches of Sirivannavari. PROEDS will support a UNESCO initiative to expand access to creative education for young people in the creative cities of Thailand.
